Mode of action

The other ingredients are: Mannitol (E 421), microcrystalline cellulose, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), simaldrate, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to bilastine or any of the other ingredients listed above, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Allegra® allergy tablets:

The recommended dose is 1 tablet (20 mg bilastine) daily for adults including the elderly and adolescents aged 12 years and over.

Take the tablet one hour before or two hours after eating or drinking fruit juice.Take the tablet with a glass of water.The length of time you take it depends on the type of allergy you have (seasonal or year-round).Please ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.

Allegra® allergy tablets are not suitable for children under 12 years of age because the active ingredient content is too high for this age group.

Intake

The tablet is to be taken.

The tablet must be taken one hour before or two hours after eating or drinking fruit juice.

Swallow your tablet with a glass of water.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you suffer from moderate to severe impairment of kidney function and are also taking certain medicines.

Ability to drive and use machines:

Bilastine 20 mg has been shown to have no effect on driving ability in adults.However, each individual patient's reaction to the medicine may vary.Therefore, you should check how you react to this medicine before driving a vehicle or operating machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. There are no or limited data on the use of bilastine in pregnant women and during breast-feeding and on the effects on fertility.

Application

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: Take 1 tablet (20 mg bilastine) once daily with water.Do not take more than 1 tablet within 24 hours.

Notes

These tablets should not be taken with food or with grapefruit juice or other fruit juices as this may reduce the effect of bilastine.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
