Lorano acute tablets is a medicine used to treat allergic rhinitis, e.g. hay fever, and hives with itching, redness and wheals of the skin. It contains the active ingredient loratadine. The medicine is taken in the form of tablets. The dosage varies depending on age and body weight. In children 2-12 years of age under 30 kg body weight, the recommended dose is 1/2 tablet daily; in children 2-12 years of age over 30 kg body weight and adolescents 12 years of age and older and adults, the recommended dose is 1 tablet daily. The tablets are taken independently of meals with a glass of water. The intake should be continued as long as the symptoms persist or as recommended by the doctor. Side effects may include headache, increased appetite, drowsiness and insomnia. In some cases, severe allergic reactions, dizziness, convulsions, accelerated or irregular heartbeat, nausea, dry mouth, stomach upset, liver dysfunction, hair loss, rash, tiredness and weight gain may also occur. Lorano akut tablets contain lactose and should only be taken after consulting a doctor if you have a known sugar intolerance. The medicinal product must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or in babies and small children under 2 years of age. Use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if there are any questions about use and dosage.
