Lefax extra chewable tablets are a medicine for the symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence, bloating pain, tightness and increased gas formation after operations, as well as functional complaints of the upper gastrointestinal tract such as bloating, pain/pressure in the upper abdomen, belching, nausea, premature feeling of fullness and nausea. They can also be used in preparation for diagnostic examinations in the abdomen to reduce gas shadows. The chewable tablets contain the active ingredient simeticon and are able to destroy built-up gas in the gastrointestinal tract, thus relieving discomfort. The medicine contains sucrose and glucose and should not be taken if there is an intolerance to these sugars. There are no known interactions with other medicines. The recommended dosage for adolescents and adults is 1-2 chewable tablets 3-4 times daily. The chewable tablets should be chewed well and taken with or after meals. The duration of use depends on the individual symptoms. The medicine can usually also be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in children over 14 years of age. The chewable tablets are available in packs of 20 or 50.
