VISMED® GEL - Effective solution for dry eyes

Dry eye, known in technical terms as “keratoconjunctivitis sicca”, is one of the most common eye diseases.This complex disease often arises from increased evaporation of the tear film due to a disruption of the final layer.Typical symptoms include burning, itching, scratching, increased tear flow, an unpleasant foreign body sensation, redness and tired eyes.

VISMED® GELis suitable for treating dry, tired and burning eyes as well as foreign body sensations.This preparation offers intensive moisturizing and impresses with its pleasant, liquid consistency, which feels silky-soft on the eye without impairing your vision.The gel is free of preservatives and therefore very well tolerated.The resealable ampoules can be used up to 12 hours after opening.

Mode of action

Hyaluronic acid is a substance produced naturally in the body that is contained in the tear film and enables the storage of moisture and the transport of nutrients.Biotechnologically produced hyaluronic acid solutions are similar in their physical and chemical properties to natural tears and are therefore used in ophthalmology to treat dry eye.Clinical studies prove the effectiveness of VISMED® GEL and a significant reduction in symptoms.

1 ml of VISMED® GEL contains: 3.0 mg hyaluronic acid, sodium salt, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium citrate, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride and water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, this product should not be used.

Dosage

Unscrew the cap of the single-dose container and hold the ampoule opening over the eye to be treated.The gel can be easily applied from the ampoule using light finger pressure.Drip 1 to 2 drops of eye gel into the conjunctival sac as needed.The solution spreads through the blink of an eye and forms a transparent, durable layer of liquid on the surface of the eye.

Patient information

The opened ampoule can be closed again and taken with you to use the gel as needed throughout the day.However, the gel should not be used for longer than 12 hours.Do not touch the drip opening and do not bring the ampoule directly to the eye when using.Do not use damaged ampoules.

The drops should be kept out of the reach of children.

Can dry eyes be prevented?You can contribute to the well-being of your eyes by drinking enough - at least 2 liters of water or unsweetened tea per day.A balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables as well as omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in sea fish, is also important.Ventilate regularly, avoid cigarette smoke and protect your eyes from strong light with sunglasses.Regular eyelid cleaning and care can also be helpful.

How should I store the VISMED® GELampoules?Always keep VISMED® GEL out of the reach of children and store the ampoules between 2°C and 25°C.Once the expiry date has expired, the medical product may no longer be used.
