Melolin wound dressings non-sterile are a low-adhesion wound dressing made of a cotton-polyester mixture with high absorbency. They have a polyester coating on the wound side which reduces the risk of sticking to the wound. This ensures a painless dressing change. The dressing has good exudate absorption, which allows longer dressing changes and is therefore economical. The back of the dressing is water repellent to minimise moisture penetration. Melolin cushions and protects the wound from external influences. A secondary dressing is required to hold the dressing in place. Melolin is suitable for the primary care of light to moderately exuding post-operative wounds, cuts, abrasions and minor burns.
