Instructions for use of the article Atrauman Ag Silver 10 x 20 cm Compresses: Atrauman Ag Silver 10 x 20 cm compresses are non-adherent wound contact dressings suitable for the treatment of chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, diabetic leg ulcers and decubitus ulcers. They can also be used for the treatment of acute burns up to second degree. The backing material is made of polyamide coated with silver. It is soft, thin and allows close contact with the wound bed. The dressing contains silver and does not contain paraffins. It cares for the wound edges and prevents maceration. Application of the dressing involves cutting it to the size of the wound and applying it to the wound. A sterile secondary dressing should be used to absorb wound exudate. The dressing impregnation contains caprylic/capric/myristic/stearic triglycerides, bis-diglycerylpolyacyladipate-2 and macrogol 2000. Atrauman Ag is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds of all kinds. It releases silver ions and is effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. It does not contain any paraffin additives. Atrauman Ag can also be used in combination with the Vivano negative pressure wound therapy system. It is particularly suitable for the treatment of germ-contaminated or infected wounds and for additional infection prophylaxis.
