Instructions for use for HIRUDOID Ointment 300 mg/100 g, 100 g

Hirudoid ointment 300 mg/100 g is used for the local treatment of blunt injuries such as bruises, contusions and haematomas as well as superficial phlebitis. The ointment contains the active ingredient chondroitin polysulphate from bovine trachea. Before using Hirudoid ointment, please read the package leaflet carefully and use the medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. The duration of use of Hirudoid ointment depends on the type of symptoms and is usually up to 10 days for blunt injuries and one to two weeks for superficial phlebitis. Avoid using the ointment on open wounds, injured skin or near the eyes or mucous membranes. Wash your hands thoroughly after use. Hirudoid ointment may occasionally cause skin irritation. If there are signs of a hypersensitivity reaction or side effects, stop the treatment and consult your doctor. The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to chondroitin polysulphate or any of the other ingredients, or on open wounds.
