ScarSil® silicone scar gel

ScarSil® silicone scar gel is an odorless, transparent and non-sticky gel that is used for the invisible treatment of scars.In addition to silicone, this gel contains other valuable ingredients that complement the effect of the silicone and support scar treatment.

Ingredients and their effects

The gel consists of 97% silicone, which is considered the first choice for the prevention and treatment of scars.In addition, ScarSil® contains the following ingredients:

1% of a fat-soluble vitamin C derivative that protects sensitive scarred skin from the harmful effects of UV-rays and promotes collagen synthesis.

1% Emu oil, which makes the skin soft and supple and makes the gel easier to apply.Emu oil draws on the traditional experience of Australian Aborigines.

1% Squalene, which protects the skin thanks to its antioxidant properties, provides lipids and smoothes and nourishes the skin.

Application

ScarSil® silicone scar gel can be used in various situations:

Postoperatively to avoid scar hypertrophy and scar contractures.The initial intense scar redness disappears significantly more quickly with use than if left untreated.

For use on older, hardened scars to make them softer and more elastic and to make movement easier.

To support the body's own repair processes in the event of a slight sunburn on the scar.The scar quickly loses its redness caused by sunburn.

The gel is applied very thinly to the affected skin area 2 to 3 times a day and massaged in lightly.It is absorbed immediately, is odorless and does not stick.It leaves a thin, transparent silicone film on the skin, which makes it particularly recommended for use on moving parts of the body such as the face or joints.

The 4 ml tube lasts approx. 4 weeks for a smaller scar (5 x 1 cm).The 30 ml tube is sufficient for a larger scar (10 x 2 cm) for approx. 8 weeks, if applied 3 times daily.

ScarSil® and ScarFX® can be used alternately during the day and night.
