Application

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each ferro sanol dragée contains 225 mg iron (II) glycine sulfate complex, which corresponds to 40 mg iron (II) ion.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: sucrose, talc, calcium carbonate, corn starch, spray-dried arabic gum, povidone K25, magnesium stearate (vegetable), glucose solution, gelatin, lactose-1-water, glycerol 85%, stearic acid, macrogol 6000, montan glycol wax, highly dispersed silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

ferro sanol dragées must not be taken if you are allergic to iron or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.Its use is also contraindicated in cases of narrowing of the esophagus, a hereditary iron storage disease (hemochromatosis), iron overload, iron utilization disorders, repeated or chronic blood transfusions and in children under 6 years of age with a body weight of less than 20 kg.

Dosage

The usual dosage for adults and children aged 6 and over with a body weight of at least 20 kg is 1 to 2 tablets 3 times a day at the start of treatment, then 1 tablet 1 to 2 times a day.The exact dosage and duration of use should be determined by the doctor.Specific restrictions on use apply for elderly patients, patients with kidney or liver impairment, and children under 6 years of age.

Intake

The dragées should be taken whole with sufficient water.It is taken either in the morning on an empty stomach, about an hour before breakfast, or at an interval of about 2 hours before or after a meal.The duration of use depends on the doctor's recommendation and can be between 3 and 6 months.

Patient information
