Instructions for use for Tardyferon® Depot iron (II) sulfate 80 mg sustained-release tablets, 100 pcs
Treat iron deficiency - with Tardyferon®
Tardyferon® is an iron preparation with a blood-building effect (antianemic) and is used to treat iron deficiency conditions.Iron is a vital trace element and an essential component of the blood pigment hemoglobin, which is important for the transport of oxygen in our body. Our body cannot produce iron itself, so we rely on an outside supply. We have an increased need for iron, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but also during growth.
No prescription is required for this product.
Area of application
Tardyferon® is used to treat iron deficiency conditions. It has a blood-forming effect and helps regulate the iron balance in the body.If you don't feel better or even feel worse after four weeks of taking it, you should contact your doctor.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Each extended-release tablet contains 247.25 mg of dried ferrous sulfate, which corresponds to 80 mg of ferrous ion.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, iron (III) oxide yellow and red, Eudragit RL 30 D, Eudragit RS 30 D, glycerol dibehenate, maltodextrin, Sepifilm LP 010, hypromellose, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide, triethyl citrate and sodium ions.
Contraindications
The preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to dried iron (II) sulfate or any of the other ingredients mentioned.Taking it is also contraindicated in cases of iron overload such as hemochromatosis, genetic anemia (thalassemia) or other forms of anemia (refractory anemia or medullary insufficiency). In addition, the medicine must not be taken by children under 10 years of age.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.Tardyferon® is taken orally in children aged 10 and over and in adults. If you have a mild iron deficiency, take 1 prolonged-release tablet whole before breakfast with a little water. If you have a severe iron deficiency and a body weight of over 32 kg, take 1 extended-release tablet in the morning and evening.A daily dose of 5 mg iron per kilogram of body weight should not be exceeded. After three weeks the dose can be reduced to 1 prolonged-release tablet per day.
The duration of intake depends on the type and severity of the iron deficiency. To replenish iron reserves, you should continue taking 1 prolonged-release tablet daily for 1 to 3 months after the values have normalized.
Intake
If you have a mild iron deficiency, take 1 prolonged-release tablet whole before breakfast with a little water. If you have severe iron deficiency, take 1 extended-release tablet in the morning and evening about one hour before meals.

Pregnancy
