Directions for use of the product Ferro SANOL duodenal Important information (compulsory information): - Ferro sanol duodenal 100 mg hard capsules contain the active substance iron(II) glycine sulphate complex. - Indications: Iron deficiency, especially iron deficiency anaemia, during pregnancy and breast-feeding; in childhood; in iron-deficient diets, after acute and chronic blood loss. - Read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. - ferro sanol duodenal must not be taken in the case of allergy to iron or one of the other ingredients, oesophageal stenosis, hereditary iron storage disease, iron overload, iron utilisation disorders, repeated or chronic blood transfusions, children under 6 years of age (with a body weight of less than 20 kg). - Take special care when taking ferro sanol duodenal in diseases of the digestive tract, elderly people with unexplained iron deficiency, severe and chronic kidney diseases, liver dysfunction, alcoholism and children. - Discolouration of the teeth may occur and may disappear or be removed after stopping the medicine. - Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines taken. - The absorption of iron may be inhibited by certain foods and drinks. Foods containing calcium should be taken separately. - Regular intake is particularly important during pregnancy and breastfeeding. - Take ferro sanol duodenal unchewed with sufficient water. Dosage according to the needs of the patient. - Common side effects are gastrointestinal complaints, diarrhoea, constipation, heartburn, nausea, vomiting. Reversible discolouration of the teeth is rare. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur. - In case of side effects, inform your doctor or pharmacist. - In case of overdose, inform a doctor immediately. Accidental overdose may lead to poisoning. - If a dose is forgotten, do not take a double dose. This prolongs the total duration of therapy. - Discontinuation of intake jeopardises the success of the therapy. - Side effects can also be reported to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices.

Unfortunately, this medication is also problematic if you have a sensitive bowel. I had to stop taking it after three days because I wasn't feeling well.

A good preparation! I prefer to take it in the evening...I haven't eaten anything for at least 3 hours beforehand...then you don't get constipation and the usual stomach complaints are eliminated because you're asleep. I am much fitter in the morning and my digestion also reacts better than if I swallow the capsule in the morning. When I have my period, I take a vegan product in the morning (iron citrate from BjökoVit), which has a lower dose, and Ferro Sanol Duodenal again in the evening... plus magnesium in the morning and evening and the usual vitamins. I have rarely felt so fit :)

Over the past few years, I have suffered from a severe iron deficiency, sypmtoms and extreme tiredness, which I experienced as total exhaustion, as well as extremely intense hair loss, so that I hardly wanted to comb my hair, let alone wash it. After many visits to the doctor, I finally received a diagnosis. I then took Ferro Sanol duodenal over a longer period of time until my iron level was back in the normal range, I tolerated it well and it helped me a lot. I can definitely recommend this preparation. Note for first-time users: Don't be alarmed, the stools turn black.

These tablets help well with iron deficiency, best taken with fruit juice and vitamin B12 and folic acid, worked wonders for me. At the beginning I took one tablet in the morning and one tablet in the evening. At the beginning, digestion reacts a little unpleasantly to taking the tablets, but this subsides. It is important to take the tablets for at least 3 months to replenish the body's iron stores (ferritin levels must be measured in the blood and should ideally be 100)
