Haemoprocan 50 mg film-coated tablets contain the active substance dried ferrous sulphate and are used to treat iron deficiency conditions. The tablets are taken unchewed with sufficient liquid in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals. The exact dosage depends on the body weight and is 1 tablet 4 times a day for adults and 1 tablet 3 times a day for children weighing 25 kg or more. People with kidney or liver disease should discuss the exact dosage with their doctor. The duration of treatment is at least 8 weeks, but it should be continued for another 6-8 weeks to replenish the iron supply.
