Information for use with the article Eisen Verla 35 mg: Eisen Verla 35 mg is an iron preparation used to treat iron deficiency conditions. The active ingredient, ferrous gluconate, is well absorbed by the body. The coated tablets are neutral in taste and contain no lactose or gluten. They can be used for children, adolescents and adults. Iron therapy according to need has a high therapeutic benefit at any age. Iron deficiency can lead to symptoms such as persistent fatigue, poor concentration, reduced performance, pale complexion and brittle nails. In addition to a balanced diet, Eisen Verla can help to compensate for iron deficiency. The dosage depends on the degree of iron deficiency. Adolescents and adults take 1-2 coated tablets 2-3 times a day, unchewed and with sufficient liquid. Children weighing 12 kg or more take 1 coated tablet 1-2 times a day, while children weighing 18 kg or more can take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. It should be taken half an hour before meals. The medicinal product must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or in certain forms of anaemia and iron utilisation disorders. Medical advice is required before use. Possible side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea or constipation as well as blackening of the stools. Various complaints may occur in case of overdose, especially in children. If an overdose is suspected, a doctor should be consulted. The medicinal product contains sucrose (sugar) and should be used with caution in case of intolerance to sucrose, especially in diabetics. Possible interactions with other medicinal products should be noted. The package leaflet should be read carefully before use.
