Haemoprocan 50 mg film-coated tablets are used to treat iron deficiency conditions. The recommended dose for adults is 1 film-coated tablet 4 times a day, while children weighing 25 kg or more should take 1 film-coated tablet 3 times a day. The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease, but is usually at least 8 weeks. Haemoprocan contains lactose and sucrose and should therefore be taken with caution if you are intolerant to these sugars. Side effects may include gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea and constipation. People with an allergy to ferrous sulphate or certain components of the medicine should not take it. No data are available for use in children with a body weight of less than 25 kg.
