Directions for use of the article Dolortriptan bei Migräne Filmtabletten. Dolortriptan bei Migräne®, 12.5 mg Film-coated tablets. Active substance: almotriptan (in the form of almotriptan[(RS)-hydroxysuccinat]). Indications: For the acute treatment of headache in migraine attacks with or without aura in adults aged 18 to 65 years. Warnings: Only suitable for patients who know they have a migraine. Contains sodium. This medicine is only suitable for patients who know they have a migraine. Typical symptoms of a migraine are a one-sided, pounding headache, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Dolortriptan for migraine is used for the acute treatment of headaches in migraine attacks with or without aura. It reduces the dilation of blood vessels in the head, relieves headache and other migraine symptoms. Its safety and efficacy for the treatment of migraine aura have not yet been established. Dolortriptan for migraine should not be taken to prevent migraine attacks and in certain medical conditions such as heart or vascular disease, severe liver disease or during pregnancy. Before taking dolortriptan for migraine, certain risk factors such as allergies, other symptoms of illness or risk factors for heart disease should be considered. The recommended dose for adults is one 12.5 mg tablet, taken as soon as possible after the onset of the migraine attack. The maximum daily dose is two (12.5 mg) tablets within 24 hours. Side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting and fatigue. More serious side effects such as palpitations or allergic reactions may also occur.
