Instructions for use for HEPATHROMBIN Gel 30,000, 150 g

HEPATHROMBIN 30000 is a gel for the supportive treatment of acute swelling after blunt trauma. It contains the active ingredient heparin sodium (porcine mucosa) and is available without prescription. The gel is applied thinly and evenly to the affected area two to three times a day and should not be used for more than 10 days. It must not be used if there is an allergy to heparin, levomenthol or any of the other ingredients, or in infants and young children up to 2 years of age. There may be an increased risk of bleeding if medicines that interfere with blood clotting are used at the same time. Possible side effects are allergic reactions to heparin when applied to the skin, which usually disappear quickly. Further advice and information can be found in the package leaflet.
