Valerian tincture Hetterich is a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of restlessness and nervous sleep disorders. It contains the active substance tincture of valerian root. The tincture can be used in adolescents from 12 years of age and adults. The usual dosage is 1/2 teaspoon 2-3 times a day or 1 teaspoon half an hour before going to bed. The intake should be diluted with a little water. The duration of use should not exceed two weeks. The medicine should not be used by alcoholics, liver patients, epileptics, brain patients or brain-damaged persons as well as during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Side effects are not known so far. The medicinal product contains 66% alcohol by volume and should therefore be taken with caution.
