Cordes BPO 5% Gel is a medicinal product for the treatment of acne. It contains the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide and is used for all forms of endogenous acne. It is applied 1-2 times daily to the affected areas of the skin. The skin should be thoroughly cleansed before application. The gel is applied thinly to the skin and not massaged in. In case of mild skin irritation, the application can be reduced to once a day. The average duration of treatment is 4-10 weeks. Side effects may include mild skin irritation such as redness, itching, tightness and burning. These should disappear after a few days. If they persist or worsen, the preparation should be discontinued and medical advice sought. Cordes BPO 5% Gel must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to benzoyl peroxide or other ingredients, on previously damaged skin or in the area of the mouth, nose and eye corners. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the application should only be carried out after consultation with the doctor. The gel contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation.
