Instructions for use for Cordes BPO 5% gel, 30 g
Area of application
CORDES BPO is an anti-acne medicine that is applied to the skin.It contains the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide and is particularly suitable for the treatment of endogenous acne caused by the body's own metabolism. In contrast to many drugstore products, the effectiveness of CORDES BPO has been proven by scientific studies.Regular use can lead to a visible improvement in the skin after just a few weeks. No prescription is required for this product.
Mode of action
CORDES BPO works in two ways: It loosens the top layer of calluses in the affected skin areas and removes calluses, leaving the pores free and allowing excess sebum and pus to drain away. This promotes the healing of existing impurities. The active ingredient also removes the breeding ground for acne bacteria, inhibits their growth and reduces blackheads. In contrast to antibiotics, the use of benzoyl peroxide does not lead to resistance, so the active ingredient can be used regularly without loss of effect.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
CORDES BPO contains 50 mg of benzoyl peroxide as active ingredient. The excipients include carbomer, sodium hydroxide, 100 mg of propylene glycol and purified water.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to benzoyl peroxide or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.
Dosage
Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose should be applied to the skin once or twice a day.If you have particularly sensitive skin, the product should initially only be used once a day before going to bed.The average treatment duration is 4 to 10 weeks.Overdose may cause excessive drying and increased peeling of the skin.In these cases, discontinue use and, if necessary, consult a doctor. If you accidentally take the medicine, it may cause discomfort in the esophagus and stomach. In this case, see a doctor. If you forget to use it, continue treatment according to the dosage instructions given. If treatment is discontinued, no special measures are required.
Intake
The medicine is intended exclusively for use on the skin.Clean the skin thoroughly before use and, after drying, apply the gel thinly to the affected skin areas.
Patient information
Particular caution is required in patients with atopic eczema.Avoid contact of the gel with eyes, mucous membranes and broken skin.Intensive UV-irradiation of the treated body parts should be avoided.Due to the bleaching effect of the active ingredient, the preparation should not be used on the eyebrows, in the beard area or on the forehead hairline and must not come into contact with colored textiles. No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.
Pregnancy
Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice. The preparation should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after careful consultation with a doctor. The product should not be used in the last month of pregnancy. It is not known whether benzoyl peroxide passes into breast milk after topical use.
Notes
Only when the 3% preparation can be used without the skin overreacting should you switch to the 5% preparation. If there is no improvement with the use of the lower concentration drug, then a higher concentration preparation (10%) should be used.Because of the bleaching effect of the active ingredient, the preparation should not be used on the eyebrows, in the beard area or on the forehead hairline, and it must not come into contact with colored textiles. You should not sunbathe or visit solariums while using the drug.Other irritating medicines intended for external use should not be used at the same time.At the beginning of the treatment, slight skin irritation such as redness, itching, a feeling of tension, burning as well as drying and moderate peeling may occur as the effect sets in.If these symptoms persist for more than 5 days or worsen, the product should be discontinued and the doctor should be consulted. In individual cases, the skin may overreact to contact with the drug (contact sensitization). In this case the medicine should be discontinued.
