Instructions for use for Cordes BPO 5% gel, 100g
Area of application
Cordes BPO is an anti-acne medicine that is applied to the skin.It contains the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide and is particularly effective for endogenous acne caused by the body's own metabolism. The effectiveness of Cordes BPO has been proven by scientific studies.Regular use can lead to skin improvement after just a few weeks.
Cordes BPO is available in three different strengths: 3%, 5% and 10%.The 3% version is particularly suitable for sensitive facial skin, while the 5% version is suitable for normal skin. The 10% variant is recommended if lower concentrations do not have the desired effect or if the chest and back are also affected by pimples.
Mode of action
Cordes BPO works in two ways: exfoliating and antibacterial. It loosens the top layer of calluses in the affected skin areas, removes calluses and keeps the pores clear. This allows excess sebum and pus to drain away and existing impurities heal more quickly. At the same time, Cordes BPO removes the breeding ground for acne bacteria, prevents inflammation and promotes the healing of pimples. The active ingredient releases reactive oxygen, which inhibits the growth of bacteria and reduces the number of bacteria. In contrast to antibiotics, the use of benzoyl peroxide does not lead to resistance.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Cordes BPO contains 50 mg of benzoyl peroxide as active ingredient. The excipients include carbomer, sodium hydroxide, 100 mg of propylene glycol and purified water.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to benzoyl peroxide or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.

Using more than you should may cause excessive drying and increased peeling of the skin.In these cases, discontinue use and, if necessary, consult a doctor. If you accidentally take the medicine, it may cause discomfort in the esophagus and stomach. In this case, see a doctor.
If you forget to use it, continue treatment according to the dosage instructions given. If you stop treatment, no special measures are required.

Patient information
Particular caution is required in patients with atopic eczema (neurodermatitis) who suffer from dry and oily skin.Avoid letting the gel come into contact with the eyes as this may cause redness and burning. In this case, rinse the eye with running water.Do not apply the medicine to mucous membranes or in the corners of the mouth, nose or eyes and do not use it on broken skin.
Avoid intensive UV-irradiation of the treated body parts during therapy.Due to the bleaching effect of the active ingredient, the preparation should not be used on the eyebrows, in the beard area or on the forehead hairline and must not come into contact with colored textiles.
