Soledum® balm
Soledum® Balm is a medicine used to relieve cold symptoms of the upper and lower respiratory tract.The natural active ingredient cineole, which is also contained in the Soledum® capsules, develops its effect not only when used internally, but also when applied externally.By rubbing Soledum® balm on the chest and back, the active ingredient is absorbed through the skin and can develop its expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects in the respiratory tract.
Areas of application
Soledum® balm is used to improve the condition of colds of the upper and lower respiratory tract.These include uncomplicated runny nose, hoarseness, uncomplicated bronchial catarrh and uncomplicated sinus catarrh.The product is intended for external use only and must not be ingested.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Soledum® balm contains the active ingredient cineole in a concentration of 150 mg per gram of solution.Medium-chain triglycerides are also included.
Application
Soledum® balm can be used in different ways.For rubbing, 5 to 15 drops are applied to the chest and back 2 to 4 times a day.For small children aged 2 and over, 5 to 10 drops once or twice a day are sufficient.For inhalation, 15 to 20 drops are poured over 1/4 liter of hot water in a suitable steam inhaler.The inhalation treatment should be carried out 2 to 3 times a day for about 3 to 5 minutes.In the bedroom or climate room, cloth cloths or cotton balls can be soaked with 15 to 20 drops and placed at the head of the bed to ensure sustained inhalation.As a bath additive, 10 to 20 drops in around 20 liters of water are sufficient.
Contraindications
Soledum® Balm must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, in infants and small children under 2 years of age, in acute pneumonia, in skin diseases or injured skin, in childhood illnesses with rash, in pseudocroup or whooping cough.
Patient information
Particular caution is required in diseases with pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract.In such cases, the medicine should only be used under medical supervision.If you have a fever, shortness of breath, or purulent or bloody sputum, you should see a doctor immediately.If the symptoms persist after seven days, you should also consult a doctor.The medicine should not be used around the eyes.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
There are no scientific studies on the use of Soledum® balm during pregnancy.For general safety considerations, use should be avoided in the first trimester of pregnancy.During breastfeeding, the medicine should not be applied to the breast area to avoid contact of the infant or small child with the preparation.In both cases, it should only be used after consulting a doctor.
Notes
If you have symptoms that last longer than a week, shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum, you should seek medical advice.Soledum® Balm is intended exclusively for external use and must not be taken.The medicine should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.
