Castor Oil Caelo: An herbal laxative

Castor oil from Caelo is a purely herbal laxative that is obtained from the fatty oil of the seeds of the plant Castor communis.It is used for short-term relief from constipation.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Caelo castor oil is used for short-term use for constipation.It should only be used if no laxative effect can be achieved through a change in diet or swelling preparations.

Contraindications

Castor oil must not be used in cases of intestinal obstruction, acute inflammatory diseases of the intestine such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis or appendicitis, abdominal pain of unknown cause, biliary tract diseases and severe dehydration in the body with water and salt losses.Due to insufficient information, it should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Children under 10 should not take castor oil.

Side effects

In rare cases, skin rashes may occur, in which case the medicine should not be continued.Occasionally, stomach irritation may occur, and at higher doses nausea, vomiting, painful intestinal cramps and severe diarrhea may occur.In these cases a dose reduction is necessary.With chronic use or abuse, increased losses of water and salts, especially potassium, may occur, which can lead to impaired cardiac function and muscle weakness.

Application

The following information applies unless a different dosage has been recommended to you by a doctor.Follow the application instructions so that the castor oil can work properly.

Adults and children over 10 years of age should take 1/2 to a full tablespoon full of castor oil (5-10 ml) as a single dose.The correct dosage is the lowest required to obtain soft-formed stools.The oil should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach.Castor oil should not be taken for longer than 2 weeks without medical advice.

Notes

Store castor oil protected from light, in tightly closed containers that are as completely filled as possible.Keep medicines out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
