Suprasorb X + PHMB is an antimicrobial wound dressing that is active against a variety of pathogens, including MRSA and VRE.Within 24 hours, the dressing releases almost completely the polihexanide (PHMB) in vitro.Depending on the condition of the wound, the dressing releases moisture or absorbs excess exudate, creating a moist wound environment that patients find pleasant and pain-relieving.The material of the bandage allows it to be easily adapted to different wound shapes and depths, making it particularly suitable for areas of the body that are difficult to treat.

Areas of application

The wound dressing is suitable for the care of wounds that are at risk of infection or are infected, which are weak to moderately exuding, superficial or deep.It can be used on any wound base, such as necrotic, covered, granulating or epithelializing.

Purpose

HydroBalance Biocellulose Antimicrobial Wound Dressings and Tamponades support wound healing by moisturizing and absorbing exudate from lightly to moderately exuding, superficial or deep, infectious or infected wounds.At the same time they inhibit microbial activity.

Indications

The wound dressing can be used for arterial and venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, superficial second degree burns, postoperative surgical wounds, skin grafts, split-thickness skin donor sites, and abrasions and lacerations.

The bandage offers a cooling effect for quick and lasting pain reduction.Thanks to the Hydro Balance Effect, it independently regulates moisture, provides it or absorbs excess exudate.The washing effect moisturizes and removes dead epithelial cells.The high level of comfort is achieved by the soft and supple structure.Patients find the moist environment with a cooling effect to be pleasant and pain-relieving.The dressing has an antimicrobial effect against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi and biofilm.

Notes

When treating infected wounds, wound dressing should not be used as the sole therapeutic measure, but should be supplemented by drug therapy at the discretion of the treating physician and in accordance with local clinical protocols.

Tip

If the bandage dries out, it must be sufficiently rehydrated with an exposure time of at least 10 minutes before removal.

Product composition

The wound dressing consists of water, cellulose and 0.3% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB/polihexanide).
