Zinc ointment Lichtenstein is used to support wound healing, especially for weeping or itching wounds and cracks.It can also be used as a cover ointment.The active ingredient zinc oxide forms a protective layer on the skin, binds excess moisture and secretions and supports the regeneration of the skin in acute and long-term skin diseases.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The zinc ointment contains 100 mg of zinc oxide per 100 g of ointment.The following excipients are also included: cetostearyl alcohol, white petroleum jelly and wool wax alcohol ointment.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to zinc oxide or any of the other ingredients of the ointment.When used on large areas of skin, no more than 20% of the body surface should be treated.

Dosage and application

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.The medicine is applied to the affected skin areas once or several times a day and, if necessary, covered with gauze.The duration of treatment is unlimited and depends on the healing process.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it in the genital and anal areas.Due to the additives petroleum jelly and paraffin, the simultaneous use of latex condoms can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus to an impairment of the safety of condoms.No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Zinc oxide can be used during pregnancy if used as intended and following the dosage instructions.However, large-scale application should be avoided.The ointment can also be used during breastfeeding, but large areas of the breast should be avoided.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is zinc oxide.The other ingredients are: white petroleum jelly, wool wax alcohols, cetostearyl alcohol (Ph. Eur.).

Wool wax and cetostearyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
