Directions for use of the article Vitamin B12 1.000 µg Lichtenstein Ampoules: - Vitamin B12 Lichtenstein 1,000 µg/ml solution for injection contains the active substance cyanocobalamin and is used in cases of vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be corrected nutritionally. - Vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest itself in various clinical pictures, such as hyperchromic macrocytic megaloblastic anaemia and funicular spinal disease. - A laboratory-diagnosed vitamin B12 deficiency can occur in cases of years of malnutrition, malabsorption, diseases in the terminal section of the ileum, fish tapeworm infestation and congenital vitamin B12 transport disorders. - Vitamin B12 1,000 µg is used in accordance with the package leaflet and as agreed with the doctor or pharmacist. - At the beginning of the treatment, 1 ampoule with 1 ml of vitamin B12 Lichtenstein is administered twice a week during the first weeks after diagnosis. - If there is evidence of a vitamin B12 absorption disorder in the intestine, 100 micrograms of cyanocobalamin are then administered once a month. - Vitamin B12 Lichtenstein is usually administered intramuscularly, but can also be given slowly intravenously or subcutaneously. - The medicinal product should be protected from light and stored in the original carton. - If the medicinal product is opened or prepared, it should be used within 1 hour. - Vitamin B12 Lichtenstein must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients or in case of malignant tumour. - Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor or pharmacist before use. - Side effects are rare with this medicine. - The dosage and use of the medicine should always be according to the doctor's instructions. - Interactions with other medicines may occur, so a doctor or pharmacist should be informed. - The medicinal product contains 1 mg cyanocobalamin per ampoule and other excipients. - If you have any questions or are unsure, you should read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist.
