Summary: The medicinal product vitamin B12 1000 µg Lichtenstein ampoules contains the active substance cyanocobalamin and is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be corrected by diet. Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to various clinical pictures, such as hyperchromic macrocytic megaloblastic anaemia and funicular spinal disease. It is administered intramuscularly, intravenously or subcutaneously. At the beginning of the treatment, 1 ampoule is administered twice a week. If there is evidence of intestinal absorption disorders, 100 µg of cyanocobalamin is administered once a month. The medicinal product is intended for prolonged use. No overdose symptoms can be observed. Pregnant women may use the medicinal product, as higher application amounts have no adverse effects on the unborn child. No special precautions are to be observed. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before using other medicinal products.
