Vitamin B12 forte Hevert injekt is a medicine with the active ingredient cyanocobalamin, a precursor of vitamin B12.Vitamin B12 is involved in blood formation in the body, among other things.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Vitamin B12 forte Hevert injekt is used for vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be corrected through diet.Such a deficiency can manifest itself in various clinical pictures, including hyperchromic macrocytic megaloblastic anemia, also known as perniciosa, Biermer's anemia or Addison's anemia, as well as funicular spinal disease, a damage to the spinal cord.

A vitamin B12 deficiency confirmed by laboratory diagnosis can occur due to years of malnutrition and malnutrition, for example due to a strict vegetarian diet, malabsorption due to insufficient production of intrinsic factor, diseases in the end section of the ileum, fish tapeworm infestation, blind loop syndrome or congenital vitamin B12 transport disorders.

Dosage instructions, type and duration of application

The dosage information applies unless your doctor has prescribed Vitamin B12 forte Hevert injekt differently.At the start of treatment, 1 ml of vitamin B12 forte Hevert inject is administered twice a week in the first few weeks after diagnosis.If a vitamin B12 absorption disorder in the intestine is proven, 100 µg cyanocobalamin is then administered once a month.

Vitamin B12 forte Hevert injekt is usually administered intramuscularly, but can also be given slowly intravenously or subcutaneously.The application should only be carried out by qualified personnel.Vitamin B12 forte Hevert inject is intended for long-term use.The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease and should be determined in consultation with your doctor.

Information on shelf life and storage

The medicine should no longer be used after the expiry date stated on the container and outer carton.It must be stored in the dark, for example in the outer box.The medicine must be used within the next hour after opening/preparation and is only intended for single use.Leftovers must be discarded.Medicines should always be kept away from children.

Composition

Active ingredient: cyanocobalamin 3 mg.Excipients: ammonium sulfate, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment, water for injection purposes.
