Instructions for use of the article THILO TEARS: THILO TEARS Gel is an eye gel used to treat dry eyes. It forms a protective film on the surface of the eye and allows irritation-free gliding when blinking. The gel replaces the natural tear fluid, which is insufficient when the surface of the eye is not moisturised. It can also be used during a contact lens examination of the back of the eye. The gel should be dripped into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye four times a day or as needed. It can also be used over a longer period of time. Hands should be washed thoroughly before use and contact lenses should be temporarily removed. Possible side effects of the gel include blurred vision, eye pain, eye irritation and eye redness. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if any adverse effects occur. THILO TEARS Gel should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients. It should also not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. The composition of the gel consists of carbomer as the active ingredient and other excipients such as benzalkonium chloride and sorbitol. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the gel can be used after consulting a doctor. The ability to drive may be temporarily impaired until the gel is evenly distributed. The gel should be stored at room temperature away from light. After opening, it should be used within 4 weeks. The expiry date should be observed.
