Summary: Thiogamma Turbo-Set Pur is a neuropathy preparation that is used to treat paraesthesia caused by diabetic nerve damage (polyneuropathy). The active ingredient of the medicine is alpha-lipoic acid, a substance that is formed in the metabolism and influences certain metabolic functions of the body. Alpha lipoic acid also has antioxidant properties that protect nerve cells from damage. The dosage of the Thiogamma Turbo Set is 600 mg alpha-lipoic acid daily over a period of 2-4 weeks in the initial phase for severe paraesthesia of diabetic polyneuropathy. The injection solution is administered slowly over at least 30 minutes as a short infusion. After the injection, treatment can be continued with 300-600 mg alpha-lipoic acid daily in tablet form. It should be noted that the medicinal product may cause allergic reactions, therefore patients should be monitored for possible symptoms during use. It is recommended not to discontinue the medicine without consulting a doctor. Pregnant women should only use Thiogamma Turbo Set after careful risk-benefit assessment, as no experience has been gained with this patient group to date.
