Instructions for use for Alpha Lipogamma 600 mg film-coated tablets, 100 pcs

Alpha Lipogamma® 600 mg: For nerve damage caused by diabetes

Alpha-Lipogamma® 600 mg contains the powerful antioxidant alpha-lipoic acid, which has been proven to relieve unpleasant symptoms of diabetic polyneuropathy (nerve damage) such as tingling, burning, numbness and pain.Alpha lipoic acid can scavenge harmful free oxygen radicals and thus attack one cause of nerve damage: increased oxidative stress.

Thioctic acid, also known as alpha lipoic acid, is a substance that is formed in the body's metabolism by higher living beings and influences certain metabolic processes in the body.Thioctic acid also has antioxidant properties that protect nerve cells from reactive degradation products.

Area of application

Alpha-Lipogamma® 600 mg is used for abnormal sensations caused by diabetic nerve damage (polyneuropathy). These can manifest as tingling, numbness, burning and pain in the feet.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 600 mg DL-alpha-lipoic acid as the active ingredient. The other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, lactose-1-water, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, colloidal silicon dioxide, simeticone, talc and 0.0041 BE carbohydrates.

Dosage

Always take Alpha-Lipogamma® 600 mg exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose is one film-coated tablet (corresponding to 600 mg thioctic acid) as a single dose approximately 30 minutes before the first meal.

Since diabetic nerve damage is a chronic disease, it may be necessary to take thioctic acid permanently.Your treating doctor will decide in individual cases. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you take more than you should, you may experience nausea, vomiting and headaches. In severe cases, especially when accompanied by heavy alcohol consumption, life-threatening symptoms of poisoning can occur. If a significant overdose is suspected, immediate hospitalization is required.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Simply take the next tablet at the usual time.

No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken without chewing and with sufficient fluid on an empty stomach.Concomitant consumption of food may hinder the transfer of thioctic acid into the bloodstream. It is therefore particularly important to take it half an hour before a meal/breakfast.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking the medicine.Children and adolescents should not take the medicine as there is no clinical experience for this age group.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. It is in accordance with the general principles of pharmacotherapy to use drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding only after careful risk-benefit assessment.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should only undergo treatment with alpha-lipoic acid after careful recommendation and monitoring by a doctor, as there is currently no experience with this patient group.Nothing is known about the possible excretion of alpha-lipoic acid into breast milk.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to thioctic acid or any of the other ingredients.

Notes

For information about risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacy.

Due to diabetic polyneuropathy, my husband often suffers from tingling and discomfort in his legs. Vitamins no longer helped and the doctor advised him to try this product. He says it helps him, the tingling is not completely gone but it is already much better!
