Instructions for use for Thiogamma Turbo Set Pur injection bottles, 50 ml
Thiogamma® Turbo-Set Pur: The powerful therapy for diabetic polyneuropathy
About one in three people with diabetes suffers from diabetic polyneuropathy, in which nerve damage can lead to typical symptoms such as tingling, numbness, burning or pain in the feet and hands. The main cause of this nerve damage is oxidative stress caused by diabetes-related altered metabolism.Thiogamma® Turbo Set Pur contains antioxidant alpha lipoic acid, which intercepts free radicals and thus reduces increased oxidative stress. This can alleviate discomfort and improve the quality of life of those affected.A study found a significant reduction in neuropathic symptoms after just three weeks of infusion therapy with 600 mg of alpha-lipoic acid daily.
Area of application
Thiogamma® Turbo-Set Pur is a neuropathy preparation that is used to treat abnormal sensations caused by diabetic nerve damage (polyneuropathy). The active ingredient alpha-lipoic acid is a substance formed in the body's own metabolism that influences certain metabolic processes of the body and has antioxidant properties that protect nerve cells from reactive degradation products.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Ingredients of Thiogamma® Turbo-Set Pur: 1167.7 mg alpha-lipoic acid, meglumine salt, 600 mg DL-alpha-lipoic acid, macrogol 300 as an excipient, meglumine as an excipient and water for injection purposes as an excipient.
Dosage
The medicine should always be used exactly as directed. Please adhere to the application instructions, otherwise the product will not work properly.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for severe abnormal sensations of diabetic polyneuropathy in adults is 600 mg alpha-lipoic acid (corresponding to 1 injection bottle) daily in the initial phase. The solution for injection is used over a period of 2 to 4 weeks in the initial phase of treatment. For further treatment, 300 mg to 600 mg of alpha-lipoic acid should be taken daily in capsule, tablet or coated tablet form. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
No prescription is required for this product.
Intake
The intravenous administration should be administered slowly by administering the contents as a short infusion over at least 30 minutes. The infusion is carried out directly from the bottle using a standard infusion set and the included light protection hanging bag.Because the active ingredient is sensitive to light, the injection bottle should only be removed from the folding box shortly before use.It must be ensured that the minimum infusion time of 30 minutes is adhered to.
Patient information
Allergic reactions including life-threatening shock have been observed in connection with use as an infusion solution.Your doctor will monitor you for early symptoms during use.If these occur, therapy should be stopped immediately;Further therapeutic measures may be necessary. In individual cases, particularly severe hypersensitivity reactions have been observed when using the drug in patients with uncontrolled diabetes or poorly controllable diabetes and poor general health.Alpha-lipoic acid reacts in vitro with metal ion complexes and forms poorly soluble complex compounds with sugar molecules. The medicinal product is incompatible with glucose solution, Ringer's solution and with solutions known to react with SH-groups or disulfide bridges.Only physiological saline solution should be used as a carrier solution for infusion use.Children and adolescents should be excluded from treatment with the drug as there is no clinical experience. No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy
It is in accordance with the general principles of pharmacotherapy to use drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding only after careful risk-benefit assessment.Pregnant and breastfeeding women should only undergo treatment with alpha-lipoic acid after careful recommendation and monitoring by a doctor, as there is currently no experience with this patient group.Nothing is known about the possible excretion of alpha-lipoic acid into breast milk.
Contraindications
If you are known to be hypersensitive to individual ingredients, Thiogamma® Turbo-Set Pur should not be used.
Notes
