Directions for use - Calcium D3-ratiopharm Effervescent Tablets Indications: - Proven calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency. - Supportive treatment of osteoporosis Dosage and directions for use: Adults take 1 effervescent tablet 2 times daily during or between meals. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. The effervescent tablet is dissolved in water and drunk. Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to the active substances or other components of the medicinal product. - Increased calcium content in the blood or increased calcium excretion in the urine. - Kidney stones or vitamin D overdose Warnings and precautions: - Check blood calcium levels in case of prolonged use. - Use with caution in renal dysfunction - Caution in patients with sarcoidosis or immobilisation osteoporosis - Use with caution in concomitant use of other vitamin D preparations or certain medicinal products Pregnancy and lactation: Use during pregnancy and lactation only after consultation with physician. Daily dose should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 I.U. vitamin D. Side effects: Possible side effects are increased calcium blood level, increased calcium excretion in the urine, constipation, flatulence, nausea, gastrointestinal pain, diarrhoea, skin itching, skin rash, hives. Impaired kidney function may result in increased amounts of phosphate in the blood, kidney stone formation and increased amounts of calcium in the kidneys. Storage: Keep the medicinal product out of the reach of children. Do not store above 30°C. Dispose of unused medicines in an environmentally friendly way.
