Tannolact® 40% bath additive

Bathing with Tannolact® bath additive is a relief for damaged skin.Tannolact® bath additive relieves itching, pain and inflammation and supports natural wound healing.The application is particularly pleasant and well tolerated.Tannolact® bath additive is individually dosed by dissolving it in water and offers a wide range of applications.Whether as a full, partial or sitz bath, as a compress or by gently applying it with a wash mitt, Tannolact® can be used flexibly.

Areas of application

Tannolact® 40% bath additive is a dermatic product intended for use on the skin.It is used for skin diseases associated with inflammation, oozing and itching.Due to the dosage form, it is particularly suitable for the symptomatic treatment of acute, inflammatory, weeping and itching skin diseases in areas of skin that are difficult to access, such as in the body folds and in the anal and genital areas.It also supports the treatment of diaper rash and excessive sweat secretion (hyperhidrosis).

Mode of action

Tannolact® 40% bath additive is effective for skin diseases that are accompanied by inflammation, wetness and itching.It is used as a bath additive and is particularly suitable for the symptomatic treatment of acute, inflammatory, weeping and itchy skin diseases that are difficult to access.

Tannolact® 40% bath additive contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 4 g phenolsulfonic acid-phenol-urea-formaldehyde condensate, sodium salt, calcium dilactate 5-water as an excipient, anhydrous sodium sulfate as an excipient.

Contraindications

Tannolact® 40% bath additive must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.It must not be used on the eyes.Because of the strain on the circulatory system, you should not take a full bath if you have severe heart and circulatory disease, high blood pressure, feverish illnesses or tuberculosis.

Dosage

Always use Tannolact® 40% bath additive exactly according to the instructions.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.The usual dose is:

Full baths (for adults): 30 g to approx. 150 l of water (3 sachets or 3 spoons).

Full baths (for children): 5 g to approx. 25 l of water (1/2 sachet or 1/2 spoon).

Sitz baths: 10 g in approx. 25 l of water (1 sachet or 1 spoon).

Partial baths (hand, arm, leg or foot baths): 5 g in approx. 10 l of water (1/2 sachet or 1/2 spoon).

Moist compresses, washings and cold compresses: 5 g in approx. 5 l of water (1/2 sachet or 1/2 spoon).

For acutely inflamed skin that reacts with pain and burning even when touched lightly, it is recommended to reduce the concentration: 2.5 g to approx. 5 l of water (1/4 sachet or 1/4 spoon).

The duration of treatment depends on the clinical picture of the skin disease and is generally between 3 and 14 days.If the illness has existed for a long time, the medicine can also be used for a longer period of time.The treating doctor decides on the duration of use.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you have used a larger amount than you should, drink water first and then consult a doctor who will decide on further treatment measures.

Application

To use, dissolve the required amount in cold or warm water (32°C - 35°C).To dissolve the medication more quickly, it is recommended to add the required amount to the stream of incoming water and then distribute it by hand.In the presence of alkaline soaps, the effectiveness is impaired, so soap should not be used at the same time as the bath.The plastic buckets commonly used in the household, which usually hold around 10 liters, are suitable as a guide for measuring the amount of water.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using larger skin injuries and acute skin diseases.Talk to your doctor before use.The medicine has an eye-irritating effect.Be careful not to get the medicine in your eyes.If the medicine, especially undiluted, accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, immediately rinse the eyes under running water for about 10 minutes and then consult an ophthalmologist.

Pregnancy

Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice. Tannolact® 40% bath additive can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
