octeniderm® colorless

octeniderm® colorless is a skin antiseptic that is particularly suitable for use before inserting central venous catheters (CVC) and for caring for catheter entry points.It can also be used for skin disinfection before surgical procedures, injections, blood sampling, punctures, excisions, cannulations and biopsies.It is also suitable for suture care after surgical procedures.If no special hand disinfectant is available, octeniderm® colorless can also be used for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection.No prescription is required for this product.

Application

Before all invasive procedures, the relevant skin area should be sprayed with octeniderm® colorless or applied with a soaked swab.It is important to ensure that the skin is completely wetted and that the exposure times are adhered to.Excess preparation should be absorbed to avoid puddling.

For preoperative skin antisepsis, it is recommended to mechanically shorten the hair on the affected skin area.A preoperative wash, for example with octenisan®, is also advisable.To avoid smudging of skin markings, only skin marking pens with sufficient alcohol resistance should be used.When gluing incision films, ensure that they dry sufficiently so as not to impair the adhesion.

Ingredients

The active ingredients of octeniderm® colorless per 1 g solution are 300 mg propan-1-ol, 450 mg isopropanol and 1 mg octenidine dihydrochloride.The product contains purified water as an additional ingredient.
