OLBAS The drops are purely herbal, alcohol-free, and contain no preservatives.Due to their versatile range of uses, they are an excellent addition to the home medicine cabinet and can be used both internally and externally.

Areas of application

OLBAS The drops are traditionally used for colds, including symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and hoarseness.They are suitable for adolescents aged 12 and older and for adults.Adults can also take the drops for mild gastrointestinal cramps and use them externally for mild headaches.Additionally, adolescents aged 12 and older and adults can use the drops externally for localized muscle pain.

Active substances and ingredients

The ingredients of OLBAS drops include various essential oils.One milliliter (0.91 grams) of liquid contains the following active substances: 0.48 grams of peppermint oil, 0.19 grams of cajeput oil, and 0.19 grams of eucalyptus oil.In addition, the product contains 0.03 grams of juniper berry oil and 0.02 grams of wintergreen oil (gaultheria oil) as other ingredients.

Contraindications

Drops should not be used in cases OLBAS of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Dosage and administration

For internal use in cases of colds, adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older should take three drops in a little lukewarm water three times daily.For mild gastrointestinal cramps, adults aged 18 years and older may also take three drops in lukewarm water three times daily.For inhalation during a cold, add two to four drops to a container of hot water and inhale the rising vapors.This procedure may be repeated up to three times daily.For external use on sore muscles, adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older should apply two to three drops to the affected muscle areas three times daily.Adults aged 18 years and older may apply two to three drops to the forehead, temples, or back of the neck three times daily for mild headaches, ensuring sufficient distance from the eyes is maintained.

Administration and patient information

Hands should be washed thoroughly after every application to prevent the product from accidentally getting into the eyes and causing an unpleasant burning sensation.When using the product internally, patients with heartburn or a hiatal hernia should discontinue treatment if symptoms worsen.Peppermint oil should be used with caution in cases of inflammatory or ulcerative gastrointestinal disorders.Avoid contact with the eyes during inhalation.Do not apply the drops to damaged or irritated skin.Use is not intended for children under 12 years of age; children and adolescents under 18 years of age should consult a doctor regarding headaches and gastrointestinal complaints.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Due to insufficient data, this medicinal product should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Due to the fat-soluble properties of the active ingredients, transfer into breast milk is to be expected; however, no studies on this are available.Essential oils can alter the taste of the milk and lead to feeding difficulties.
