What are Olba's drops and what are they used for?
Olba's drops are a traditional herbal medicine intended for ingestion, inhalation and external use.It is traditionally used for colds such as coughs, runny nose and hoarseness in young people aged 12 and over and adults.It can also be used for mild cramp-like complaints in the gastrointestinal tract in adults as well as for mild headaches and localized muscle pain after overexertion or incorrect strain in adolescents aged 12 and over and adults.No prescription is required for this product.
How should Olba's drops be used?
Olbas drops should always be used exactly according to the instructions in the package leaflet.If you are unsure, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist.For internal use for colds, adults and young people over 12 years of age take three drops three times a day in a little lukewarm water.For mild, cramp-like complaints in the gastrointestinal tract, adults aged 18 and over also take three drops in a little lukewarm water three times a day.To inhale for a cold, adults and young people over 12 years of age add two to four drops to a container with hot water and inhale the rising vapors.This can be repeated up to three times daily.For mild headaches, adults aged 18 and over apply two to three drops three times a day to the forehead, temples or neck.For muscle pain, adults and teenagers over 12 years of age apply two to three drops to the relevant muscle areas three times a day.After all uses, hands should be washed thoroughly to avoid accidentally rubbing Olba's drops into the eyes, as this can cause an unpleasant burning sensation.
What Olba's drops contain
Olbas drops contain peppermint oil, cajeput oil and eucalyptus oil as active ingredients.It also contains juniper berry oil and gaultheria oil as other ingredients.Olba's drops are a clear liquid.The shelf life after opening is 12 months.

Mode of action
The peppermint oil contained in Olba's drops has a cooling effect on the skin and also reduces the sensation of pain at the application site.Eucalyptus oil and cajeput oil support the effects of peppermint oil.
Contraindications
Olbas drops must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, bronchial hypersensitivity conditions such as bronchial asthma or obstructive respiratory diseases, damaged skin, children with seizure disorders, gallbladder diseases, gallstones, liver diseases, kidney diseases and stomach diseases.In addition, Olbas drops should not be used in children under 30 months.In children under 12 years of age and adolescents under 18 years of age, the medicine should only be used for certain applications.Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects
When used internally, heartburn, discomfort in the rectum area, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, burning in the oral cavity, ulcers on the mucous membrane, lichen-like skin changes, rash, fleeting reddening of the cheeks, headaches, shortness of breath, slow pulse, muscle twitching, impaired movement coordination, circulatory failure due to an allergic reaction, smell of menthol in urine and stool, painful or difficult emptying of the bladder, penile diseases and kidney damage can occuroccur after long-term use.When inhaled, coughing, respiratory arrest, spasm of the bronchi and larynx spasm can occur.When used on the skin, inflammation of the skin due to allergies, skin irritation, mucous membrane irritation, eye irritation and nasal mucosa irritation can occur.
Notes
In children under 2 years of age, Olba's drops should not be used on or in the immediate vicinity of the respiratory system, as this may cause a spasm of the larynx.Hypersensitivity reactions including shortness of breath may occur in sensitized patients.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.Therefore, before starting treatment with a new medicine, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist any other medicines you are already using.The medicine may be used for a maximum of 12 months after opening/preparation and must be stored at room temperature.
