Zyrtec film-coated tablets for allergies
Zyrtec film-coated tablets are used to treat symptoms of allergic diseases.These include chronic hives with symptoms such as itching, hives and redness of the skin, chronic allergic rhinitis and hay fever with symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, nasal congestion, redness of the eyes, itching of the eyes and tearing.
No prescription is required for this product.
Area of application
Cetirizine dihydrochloride is the active ingredient in Zyrtec film-coated tablets.It is an anti-allergic drug.In adults and children aged 6 years and over, this preparation is indicated for the relief of nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and for the relief of hives (urticaria).

Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride, which corresponds to 8.42 mg cetirizine.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, Opadry Y-1-7000 (hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol 400).
Contraindications
Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney disease and require dialysis, or if you are allergic to cetirizine, any of the other ingredients of this medicine, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
Use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: The recommended dose is 10 mg once daily as 1 tablet.
Use in children between 6 and 12 years of age: The recommended dose is 5 mg twice daily as half a tablet twice daily.
Use in patients with kidney failure: Patients with moderate kidney failure are recommended to take 5 mg once daily.If you have severe kidney disease, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist, who can adjust your dose accordingly.If your child has severe kidney disease, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist, who can adjust the dose according to the child's needs.
The length of time you take it depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.If you feel that the effect is too weak or too strong, please contact your doctor.
If you have taken more than you should, please tell your doctor.Your doctor will then decide what action, if any, to take.After an overdose, side effects of increased intensity may occur, such as confusion, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, malaise, pupil dilation, itching, restlessness, sedation, somnolence, drowsiness, rapid heartbeat, tremor and urinary retention.
Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.If you stop taking it, in rare cases pruritus and/or urticaria may recur.If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Intake
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.
Patient information

No clinically significant interactions have been observed between alcohol and cetirizine at recommended doses.However, it is recommended to avoid taking the medicine and alcohol at the same time.If you are going to have an allergy test, please ask your doctor if you should stop taking the product for a few days before the test, as this medicine could affect the result of an allergy test.
Do not give this medicine to children under 6 years of age as the tablets cannot adjust the required dose.
In clinical studies, this medicine at the recommended dose did not produce any signs of impairment of attention, alertness or ability to drive. If you plan to drive, work without a secure footing or operate machines, you should carefully monitor your reaction to the medicine after taking the preparation.You should not use more than the recommended dose.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.The preparation should be avoided in pregnant women.Accidental ingestion of the drug by pregnant women should not cause adverse health effects to the fetus.However, the medicine should only be taken if necessary and according to medical advice.
Cetirizine passes into breast milk.Side effects associated with cetirizine may be observed in breast-fed infants.Therefore, until you have consulted your doctor, you should not take this medicine while breastfeeding.
