Zyrtec film-coated tablets are an anti-allergy medicine used to relieve allergic rhinitis and hives. It contains the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride and is suitable for children from 6 years and adults. The dosage is 1/2 tablet twice daily for children and 1 tablet once daily for adolescents and adults, regardless of a meal. The tablets should be taken with liquid. The duration of treatment depends on the symptoms and the course of the disease. In case of an overdose, symptoms such as diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness and increased heart rate may occur. If a dose is missed, it should be continued at the next prescribed time without taking twice the amount. The medicine should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients, in children under 6 years of age and in people with a tendency to seizures or impaired kidney function. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the medicine.
