Area of application

Cutasept F is a colorless skin antiseptic based on propyl alcohol.It is used before punctures, minor medical procedures, catheterizations, in the event of accidents and minor injuries, in the OP-area for pre- and postoperative skin antisepsis as well as for surgical and hygienic hand disinfection.Cutasept F works quickly, comprehensively and is extremely skin-friendly.

Mode of action

Cutasept F is a fast and reliable antiseptic for application to the skin.It kills or inactivates various germs, bacteria, fungi and certain viruses through contact.Treated skin areas must therefore be sufficiently moistened and the exposure times must be adhered to.Cutasept F has bactericidal, fungicidal, tuberculocidal and limited virucidal effects (HBV, HIV, herpes simplex virus type 1, rotaviruses).

100 g of Cutasept F solution contains: propan-2-ol 63.0 g (isopropanol; corresponds to 72 vol.%).Other ingredients of the Cutasept F solution: benzalkonium chloride (0.025 g per 100 g);purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, this product should not be used.Do not use it close to the eyes.If used as intended and properly, the product can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.There is no sufficient experience with its use in infants and small children.It should therefore only be done after consulting a doctor.

Dosage

Recommended use of the Cutasept F solution: Cutasept F should act for at least 15 seconds before punctures and injections on skin with poor sebaceous glands, and at least 1 minute before punctures of joints, body cavities and hollow organs.The exposure time on skin rich in sebaceous glands should be at least 2 minutes, regardless of the type of procedure.Apply Cutasept F to the skin areas to be treated.Make sure there is sufficient wetting.

No prescription is required for this product.Cutasept F is a skin disinfectant.It is used for skin disinfection before punctures, injections and surgical procedures as well as for surgical and hygienic hand disinfection.Do not use in the immediate vicinity of the eyes.If used properly, Cutasept F can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.There is insufficient experience with the treatment of infants and small children.In these cases, it may only be used according to particularly strict indications and under medical supervision.Benzalkonium chloride can cause skin irritation.No skin wetting under bloodless cuffs.For incision films, wait for them to dry completely.Only use electrical devices after they have dried.Avoid accumulations on the patient lying surface.Do not bring into contact with open flames.Keep away from sources of ignition.If the solution comes into contact with the eyes, the opened eyes should be washed with running water for several minutes.If the disinfectant is spilled, the following measures must be taken: immediately absorb the liquid, dilute it with plenty of water, ventilate the room and eliminate sources of ignition.Flash point according to DIN 51755: 21°C.Flammable.Interactions with other agents are not known.Mild, diffuse skin irritation is common.Contact allergic reactions may occur.The medicine should no longer be used after the specified expiry date.After opening the container, the solution has a shelf life of 1 year.Store drug out of reach of children.
