Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.You should also not use Perenterol® Junior for acute diarrhea, if you have a life-threatening illness or a weakened immune system and/or if you have a central venous catheter.Infants and small children under 2 years of age should always be excluded from self-medication, as diarrhea in infants and small children under 2 years of age requires consultation with a doctor.

Dosage

Recommended use of Perenterol® Junior for acute diarrhea: For children from 2 years and adults: For the treatment of acute diarrhea: 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily (corresponding to 250 to 500 mg dry yeast from Saccharomyces boulardii daily).To prevent traveler's diarrhea, starting 5 days before departure: 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily (corresponding to 250 to 500 mg dry yeast from Saccharomyces boulardii daily).For diarrhea caused by tube feeding: Take the contents of 3 capsules daily in 1.5 liters of nutrient solution (corresponding to 750 mg of dry yeast from Saccharomyces boulardii daily).For acne: 1 capsule 3 times daily (corresponding to 750 mg dry yeast from Saccharomyces boulardii daily).Please take the capsules whole before meals with enough liquid (preferably a glass of water). For use in children under 6 years of age, the capsule should be opened by pulling it apart and the contents should be stirred into food or drinks.The drinks or food must not be too hot or ice-cold (room temperature).

The contents of the bag should be stirred into plenty of water or other drinks or mixed with food that should not be too hot (not over 50 °C) or ice cold.

Patient information

Pregnancy

The widespread use of yeast as a food has so far provided no evidence of risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Results of experimental studies for Saccharomyces boulardii are not available.Therefore, the medicine should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Notes

If diarrhea lasts longer than 2 days or is accompanied by blood or an increase in temperature, a doctor should be consulted.In cases of diarrhea, especially in children, replacement of fluids and electrolytes is the most important therapeutic measure.Diarrhea in infants and small children requires consultation with a doctor.
