HepaBesch® hard capsules

HepaBesch® is a herbal medicine that contains the dry extract from the fruits of milk thistle (Silybum marianum).Milk thistle was already used as a medicinal plant in the Middle Ages.This preparation is used for various liver diseases.

Area of application

HepaBesch® is used as a supportive treatment for chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage.However, it is not suitable for the treatment of acute poisoning.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each hard capsule contains 150-163 mg dry milk thistle fruit extract, equivalent to 83 mg silymarin.Acetone is used as an extractant.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: cellulose powder, iron (III) hydroxide oxide, iron (II, III) oxide, gelatin, purified water, indigo carmine, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, sodium dodecyl sulfate and titanium dioxide.

Dosage and intake

The recommended dose for adults is two hard capsules twice daily unless otherwise prescribed.The capsules should be taken whole after breakfast and dinner, drinking sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water.Taking it while lying down is not recommended.

The duration of intake is determined by the treating doctor.If the symptoms persist after treatment, it is advisable to see a doctor.In the event of an accidental overdose, the side effects described may increase.In this case, a doctor should be contacted.No symptoms of poisoning have been observed so far.

If you forget to take a dose, you should not take a double dose but continue taking it as usual.Stopping the medication can cause the original symptoms to return.Negative symptoms during discontinuation have not yet been described.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to milk thistle fruits, other composite plants or any of the other ingredients.It is also not permitted during pregnancy or for the treatment of acute poisoning.

Patient information

Particular caution is required if you have existing or previous liver disease.In such cases, a doctor should be consulted before taking it.If you have any signs of jaundice, you should also see a doctor.

Treatment with this medicine does not replace avoiding causes that damage the liver, such as alcohol consumption.For children, the preparation should only be given after consulting a doctor, as there is currently no sufficient experience or research for this age group.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

A doctor or pharmacist should always be consulted before taking any medication.The product should not be taken during breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies available.

No prescription is required for this product.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
