Octenilin wound gel is a product that is used to cover, moisten and clean occupied, contaminated and chronic skin wounds as well as burn wounds.It moisturizes and cleanses wounds effectively, loosens crusted wound deposits and supports the natural wound healing process through an ideal wound healing environment.The gel contains octenidine, which acts as a preservative and inactivates germs and creates a protective barrier against invading germs.The application is painless and particularly well tolerated.The gel is also colorless and odor-absorbing.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Octenilin wound gel is used to moisten and clean chronic wounds, to preservatively moisten bandages and wound dressings, to gently remove encrusted plaque and to support the natural healing process.It is also suitable for treating large, thermally caused wounds such as burn wounds.

Octenilin wound gel contains the following ingredients: Aqua purificata, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose and Octenidine HCI.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.Octenilin wound gel must not be used on hyaline cartilage, the eyes, the ear, the nose, the urinary bladder and the abdominal cavity in order to prevent possible tissue damage.

Dosage

Before use, the wound should be rinsed and cleaned extensively to remove easily removable deposits.The wound can then be treated with Octenilin wound gel and, if necessary, covered and bound with compresses, gauzes or compresses.The wound gel can be left on the wound until the next dressing change.The frequency of dressing changes depends on the nature of the wound and the amount of exudate and should take place after a maximum of 3 days.In combination with fatty gauzes, the bandage must be changed daily and the wound cleaned.The application should be repeated until all deposits can be removed and the wound is visually clean.

Patient information

Octenilin wound gel has a shelf life of 6 weeks after opening.It should be kept away from direct sunlight and safe from children.The packaging must not come into contact with the wound to avoid the spread of germs.The product must not be used in combination with PVP-iodine, as this can lead to discoloration and a reduction in the antiseptic effect of PVP-iodine.
