Instructions for use of the article Mepilex Transfer wound dressing 10x12 cm Sterile: Mepilex Transfer is a drainable foam dressing for superficial and heavily exuding wounds. The dressing allows vertical drainage of exudate into a secondary absorbent dressing and minimises the risk of maceration. The Safetac layer seals the wound edges and prevents exudate from penetrating the surrounding skin. The dressing is practical, elastic and can be cut to fit different wound shapes. It is thin and comfortable to wear and makes dressing changes virtually painless. Mepilex Transfer can be used for various exuding wounds such as exuding tumour wounds, epidermolysis bullosa (EB), skin removal sites and venous leg ulcers. The dressing can remain on the wound for several days and safely transfers the exudate into the absorbent secondary dressing. A Tubifast tubular dressing is suitable for fixation.
