Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg Nasal Dosing Spray is used for the short-term treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever caused by pollen from flowers and/or grass). The nasal spray contains the active substance beclomethasone dipropionate (Ph.Eur.). It is important to read the package leaflet carefully and to use the medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If necessary, the leaflet can be re-read or further information obtained from the pharmacist. If any side effects occur, it is important to contact your doctor or pharmacist. Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg should not be used in the case of known hypersensitivity to beclomethasone dipropionate or other components of the medicinal product. Patients who are hypersensitive to benzalkonium chloride should also avoid its use. Before using Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg, possible concomitant fungal diseases or other infections in the nasal and sinus area should be clarified and treated by a doctor. The use of Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg in children under 12 years of age is not indicated. If used together with other medicinal products, the doctor or pharmacist should be informed. During pregnancy and lactation, the doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use. There is no experience of impairment of the ability to drive and operate machinery. Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause skin irritation and narrowing of the airways. When using, the nasal tube should be used according to the instructions for use. Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg is sprayed into each nostril and the lowest effective dose should be used. Treatment should be continued with the lowest possible dose as soon as the symptoms (such as runny nose, blocked nose) are improved. The maximum daily dose of 8 single doses should not normally be exceeded. The nasal spray should be shaken before each use. After use, the nasal tube should be cleaned and covered with the protective cap. Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg should not be used for more than 7 days without medical advice. In the event of an overdose, glucocorticoid-typical undesirable side effects may occur. If the application is forgotten, it should be omitted and further application should be continued as indicated in the dosage instructions. Treatment should not be discontinued without consulting the doctor or pharmacist, as this could jeopardise the success of the treatment. Possible side effects of Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg may include skin rash, redness, itching and swelling of the eyes, face, lips and throat. Dry and irritated mucous membranes of the nose or throat, unpleasant odour sensations, changes in taste and nosebleeds may also occur. In rare cases, damage to the nasal septum and increases in intraocular pressure have been reported. Long-term osteoporosis may develop and growth disturbances in children are possible. If side effects occur, it is important to report them to the doctor or pharmacist. Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg should be kept out of reach of children and not above 25°C. The nasal spray has a shelf life of 3 months after opening the container. The pack contains 10 ml (at least 80 single doses) of nasal spray. Rhinivict Nasal 0.05 mg is a product of Dermapharm AG.
