Canesten Extra Spray is a broad-spectrum antifungal for the treatment of fungal diseases of the skin. It contains the active ingredient bifonazole, which has both antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects. The spray is applied once a day to the affected areas of the skin and can be used for various fungal diseases such as athlete's foot and hand fungus, fungal infections on the body, hands and skin folds, lichen of small fungi and superficial candidiasis. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type of disease and ranges from 2 to 4 weeks. As a rule, symptoms such as burning, itching and redness are relieved within three days. The spray should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. Before use, the affected skin area should be cleaned and then dried thoroughly. It is important to continue the treatment even if the symptoms have already subsided in order to achieve a lasting cure. If the symptoms worsen or do not improve after one week, a doctor should be consulted. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before use. Change towels and clothing that have come into contact with the affected areas daily to prevent the spread of the fungal infection. Like any medicine, Canesten Extra Spray can cause side effects such as skin irritation like redness, burning and flaking. If any adverse effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be contacted. Excessive amounts of the spray should not be used and contact with the eyes should be avoided. Persons with an allergy to antifungal agents should exercise caution.
