Area of application

The medicine is a urea preparation that is applied externally to the skin.It is used to support the treatment of dry and flaky skin conditions, such as those that can occur in atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), eczema with dry skin, contact eczema or keratinization disorders in the area of the hair follicles.It is also used for fish scale disease.The preparation can also be used for the temporary follow-up treatment of mild forms of atopic eczema (neurodermatitis).

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in this medicine is urea.The excipients include 2-phenoxyethanol, cetyl alcohol, citric acid 1-water, glycerol, glycerol monostearate, thick paraffin, polyoxyethylene (1500) monostearate, propylene glycol, stearic acid, medium chain triglycerides, purified water and wool wax.

Contraindications

The product must not be used if you are allergic to urea or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, you should apply the product thinly to the skin twice a day and rub it evenly.The duration of use depends on the clinical picture and is determined individually by the doctor.As a rule, a treatment period of two weeks is required.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the product is too strong or too weak.

If you use more than you should, your skin may become irritated.These resolve quickly on their own after stopping the preparation.Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.If you have any further questions about using this medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

The medicine is intended for use on the skin.Apply it thinly and rub it evenly.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.Particular caution is required when using the medicine near eyes and mucous membranes.Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.The medicine should not be used for acute skin inflammation with injured skin surface or on large areas if you suffer from impaired kidney function.

There is no reliable experience with the use of the product in children.Reports from the specialist literature indicate that the use of highly concentrated products containing urea in children can lead to a mostly short-term burning sensation on the skin.Consult your doctor before using the product on children.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no known risks when using Basodexan soft cream during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.The cream with 15% fat content is absorbed very well into the skin and is therefore particularly suitable for the face and hairy areas of the body.The urea it contains can increase the release of other externally applied agents and their absorption into the skin, especially cortisone, dithranol and fluorouracil.
