Application of the urea preparation

This medicine is a urea preparation intended for external use on the skin.It is used to support the treatment of dry, flaky skin conditions, such as those that can occur in atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), eczema with dry skin, contact eczema or keratinization disorders in the area of the hair follicles.The preparation can also be used for fish scale disease.It is also suitable for temporary follow-up treatment of mild forms of atopic eczema.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient is urea.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: 2-phenoxyethanol, cetyl alcohol, citric acid 1-water, glycerol, glycerol monostearate, thick paraffin, polyoxyethylene (1500) monostearate, propylene glycol, stearic acid, medium-chain triglycerides, purified water and wool wax.

Contraindications

The product must not be used if you are allergic to urea or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage and application

Always use the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is to apply a thin layer to the skin twice daily and rub evenly.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if the effect is too strong or too weak.

The duration of use depends on the clinical picture and is determined individually by the doctor.As a rule, a treatment period of two weeks is required.

If you use a larger amount than you should, the skin may become irritated, which will resolve itself quickly after you stop using the product.Do not use a double dose if you forget to use it.

To use on the skin, apply thinly and rub evenly.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the product near eyes and mucous membranes.Do not bring the medicine into contact with eyes and mucous membranes.Avoid use in cases of acute skin inflammation with injured skin surface and impaired kidney function.There is no reliable experience with the use of the product in children.Reports from the specialist literature indicate that the use of highly concentrated products containing urea in children can lead to a mostly short-term burning sensation on the skin.Consult your doctor before using the product on children.

The cream is intended for application to the skin only and must not be placed in the eyes or mucous membranes.The cream with 15% fat content is absorbed very well into the skin and is therefore particularly suitable for the face and hairy areas of the body.The urea it contains can increase the release of other externally applied agents and their absorption into the skin, especially cortisone, dithranol and fluorouracil.
