Area of application

Basodexan soft cream is a urea preparation intended for external use on the skin.It is used to support the treatment of dry, flaky skin conditions, such as those that can occur in atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), eczema with dry skin, contact eczema or keratinization disorders in the area of the hair follicles.It is also suitable for temporary follow-up treatment of mild forms of atopic eczema.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Basodexan soft cream is urea.The other components are:

100 mg urea, 2-phenoxyethanol, 10 mg cetyl alcohol, citric acid 1-water, glycerol, glycerol monostearate, thick paraffin, polyoxyethylene (1500) monostearate, 20 mg propylene glycol, stearic acid, medium chain triglycerides, purified water and 10 mg wool wax.

Contraindications

Basodexan soft cream must not be used if you are allergic to urea or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always use Basodexan soft cream exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is to apply a thin layer to the skin twice daily and rub evenly.The duration of use depends on the clinical picture and is determined individually by the doctor.As a rule, a treatment period of two weeks is required.

If you use a larger amount than you should, skin irritation may occur, which will resolve quickly after you stop using the product.If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose.If you have any further questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using Basodexan soft cream near the eyes and mucous membranes.Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.The preparation should not be used in cases of acute skin inflammation with injured skin surface or in large areas with impaired kidney function.

There is no reliable experience with use in children.Reports from the specialist literature indicate that products containing higher concentrations of urea can cause a burning sensation on the skin of children, usually for a short time.Before use on children, consult your doctor.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.
