Visine® Yxin® eye drops in single-dose pipettes, 10X0.5 ml

Instructions for use for Visine® Yxin® eye drops in single-dose pipettes, 10X0.5 ml

Visine® Yxin® eye drops in single-dose pipettes

Visine® Yxin® eye drops contain an active ingredient that has a decongestant effect on the mucous membranes. These eye drops are applied locally to the eye to relieve irritation or inflammation of the conjunctiva, which is accompanied by redness, swelling, tearing and a foreign body sensation.Such irritation can be caused by dust, smoke, light, chlorinated water or allergies. The single-dose pipettes are designed for a single use in both eyes.

No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Visine® Yxin® eye drops reduce swelling of the mucous membranes in cases of eye irritation caused by smoke, wind, chlorinated water, light, pollen or drafts. The eye drops also help with allergic conjunctivitis, such as spring catarrh or hay fever, to reduce the swelling of the irritated mucous membranes. This allows annoying redness, nasal discharge and other irritations to disappear.

Mode of action

The active ingredient tetryzoline hydrochloride contained in Visine® Yxin® eye drops contracts the dilated veins of the mucous membrane of the nose and eyeballs. This prevents excessive blood flow to the eyes and nose, which causes the mucous membranes to swell.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product. You should only use the product on the advice of your doctor if you suffer from severe cardiovascular diseases, benign prostate enlargement, metabolic disorders or dry nasal mucosa and conjunctivitis, as well as if you are being treated with medications that may increase blood pressure. The preparation must not be used in angle-closure glaucoma. For other forms of glaucoma, use should only be carried out with particular caution and under medical supervision.

Particularly with long-term use and overdose of decongestant medicines for use on the eyes, their effect can decrease. As a result of the misuse of mucosal decongestants for use on the eyes, increased or reactive hyperemia of the conjunctiva and nasal mucosa (rhinitis medicamentosa) can occur.

Eye irritation or redness are often a sign of serious eye diseases that need to be treated by an ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist should be consulted immediately if severe acute or one-sided eye redness occurs or severe eye pain and headaches, worsening vision, double vision or flying spots in front of the eyes occur.

Contact lenses must not be worn if you have an eye disease. If, in exceptional cases, the wearing of hard contact lenses is permitted by the ophthalmologist, they are removed before instillation and only reinserted 15 minutes after instillation.

Infants and children under 2 years of age must not be treated with this preparation.Long-term use and overdose, especially in children, should be avoided. Its use in children and at higher dosages may therefore only be carried out under medical supervision.

In rare cases, pupil dilation and blurred vision may occur after using the eye drops. In these cases, the ability to react in traffic or operate machines may be impaired. Therefore, if in doubt, you should consult your doctor before driving a car or other vehicles or using electrical tools or machines.
