The Visine® Yxin® Hydro eye drops with the active ingredient tetryzoline hydrochloride offer quick relief from non-infectious eye irritation and redness.These can be caused by various influences such as smoke, wind or chlorinated water.The effect begins after just 30 to 60 seconds and lasts for 6 to 8 hours.In addition, visual comfort is improved for up to 12 hours.These eye drops are suitable for children aged 6 and over, teenagers and adults.

Areas of application

The eye drops are used to temporarily reduce swelling of the mucous membranes in the event of non-infectious eye irritation.This can be caused, for example, by chlorinated water or allergies such as hay fever with eye involvement.

The Visine® Yxin® Hydro 0.5 mg/ml eye drops contain the active ingredient tetryzoline hydrochloride.1 ml of eye drops contains 0.5 mg of tetryzoline hydrochloride.The other ingredients are glycerol, hypromellose, macrogol 400, boric acid, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium citrate, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, sodium lactate solution, glycine, ascorbic acid, glucose monohydrate, polixetonium chloride and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.

Dosage

The usual dosage for children aged 6 and over, adolescents and adults is 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) 2 to 3 times daily.Contact lenses should be removed beforehand and only reinserted after 15 minutes.

Intake

The medicine is intended for use on the eyes.Before the first use, the plastic seal on the bottle neck should be removed.The child-resistant lock is opened by pressing and turning counterclockwise.After opening, hold the bottle with the opening facing down, bend your head slightly backwards and add 1 to 2 drops into the conjunctival sac.The drip tip should not come into contact with other objects.After instillation, the eye is opened and closed slightly to distribute the drops evenly.The shutter is rotated again clockwise to the end.

Patient information

In the case of certain diseases such as severe cardiovascular diseases, benign prostate enlargement, metabolic disorders, rhinitis sicca, keratoconjunctivitis sicca or glaucoma, you should speak to a doctor before use.If there is no improvement after 48 hours or symptoms worsen, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.Eye irritation or redness due to an infection, a foreign body in the eye, or chemical damage to the cornea should be treated by an ophthalmologist.If you have a headache, loss of vision, severe acute or one-sided eye redness or eye pain when exposed to light, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.The medicine should not be used for more than 3 to 5 days in a row.Contact lens wearers should remove the lenses before use and only reinsert them after 15 minutes.Children under 12 years of age should be supervised by adults when using.Children aged 2 and under 6 years may only be treated under medical supervision.Infants and children under 2 years of age must not be treated with this medicine.

After using the preparation, blurred vision and pupil dilation may occur.In these cases, you should not drive or use machines until your vision has fully restored.

Pregnancy

There are no adequate studies available examining the effects of tetryzoline during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Pregnant or breastfeeding women should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use.
