Areas of application
Loratadine ratiopharm 10 mg tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, and for the treatment of chronic hives.The tablets help with symptoms such as sneezing, nasal discharge, itchy nose, itching and burning of the eyes as well as itching, redness and hives of the skin.
Mode of action
Loratadine ratiopharm belongs to the group of antihistamines.During an allergic reaction, the messenger histamine is released, which is responsible for unpleasant side effects such as puffy eyes and a runny nose.Loratadine reduces the effect of this messenger substance, thereby alleviating the symptoms.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Each tablet contains 10 mg of the active ingredient loratadine.The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Loratadine ratiopharm must not be taken if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.It is not recommended to use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding or before a skin test.
Dosage and application
Adults and children over 12 years of age take one tablet once daily.Children aged 2 to 12 years with a body weight of over 30 kg also take one tablet once a day.Children weighing 30 kg or less take half a tablet once daily.In case of severe liver damage and a body weight over 30 kg, it is recommended to take one tablet every 2 days.The tablet can be taken without regard to meals.
Side effects
Possible side effects include nervousness, headache, tiredness, sleepiness, insomnia, increased appetite, dizziness, convulsions, rapid heartbeat, palpitations, nausea, dry mouth, gastritis, liver dysfunction, skin rash and hair loss.In very rare cases, dizziness may occur, which may affect the ability to drive or use machines.
Storage
Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the packaging.This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Notes
