Vivinox® Sleep sleeping tablets are a sleeping pill from the antihistamine group used for the short-term treatment of sleep disorders. The lozenges contain the active substance diphenhydramine hydrochloride. The usual dosage for adults is 1 to 2 dragées (25 to 50 mg) and should not be exceeded. People with impaired liver or kidney function and elderly or debilitated patients should be given lower doses. The lozenges are taken unchewed 30 minutes before bedtime with some liquid. The duration of treatment should be as short as possible and not exceed two weeks. Children and adolescents under 18 years of age should not be treated with Vivinox® Sleep lozenges. The medicine should be stored away from heat and moisture. It contains lactose, sugar and wheat starch. Side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, drowsiness, dry mouth and difficulty concentrating. In case of an overdose, disturbances of consciousness, hallucinations and cardiovascular disorders may occur. There are some contraindications, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, asthma, stomach ulcers and certain heart diseases. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take the medicine.
